Documentation and scope

Structured content from the public source documentation.

01

Public documentation

Five independent string synthesizers: Nyckelharpa, Gayageum, Chapman Stick, Yayli Tanbur and Crwth. I brought these five voices through individual listening and correction, each with a score written for its register and playing style.

02

Instruments

Every product has its own VST3 and Standalone application, one dedicated engine and three factory programs: Reference, Natural and Expressive. The sound is generated algorithmically; the demonstration recordings are kept outside the engines.

03

Listen and explore

The listening library contains 15 lossless FLAC performances and five original MIDI scores. Download or clone this repository and open media/auditions.html for one player per instrument and a preset selector. The selected acceptance preset is identified in each guide. All recordings retain the existing listening level; no new sound processing is added for publication.

The original Unicor SoundEngine instrument illustrations are included unchanged. The original plug-in background and logo are included with the build sources. The guides explain the original French panel labels in English.

04

Get started

Download an individual Windows x64 archive or the combined collection from Releases. Packages include VST3 and Standalone applications. Follow the installation guide, then explore the common controls and instrument guides. Build instructions are included for working from source.

05

Licence

Personal and noncommercial use — PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0. The original code, presets, guides, artwork and synthesised demonstrations may be used, modified and shared for purposes allowed by the included licence. Commercial use requires separate permission. JUCE and other third-party components keep their own terms.
