CADRYL / RIGGERDROID
Help, right where you need it.
Practical answers to keep your project moving, from the first image to a complete studio backup.
Getting started & import
Which phone do I need?
Cadryl requires Android 9 or later and an ARM64 device. Its interface is available in French and English. Manual annotation needs no model; inference and training depend on a compatible model, available memory and storage.
How do I import my photos?
Create a project and choose a local folder using the Android picker. JPEG, PNG and WebP are supported. Cadryl copies the images needed for the batch without changing the source folder. Use a JSONL manifest to retain identifiers or import annotations, and select the folder used to resolve its relative paths.
How do I import from Hugging Face?
Enter the repository, configuration, split and image column. An HF token is required for an authorized private source. If the Viewer provides no usable image, use a JSONL manifest on HF or a local folder. The manifest route can resolve a branch or SHA; the Viewer route does not offer the same file revision guarantee.
Why are some images not imported?
Read the operation details: duplicates, missing references, truncated cells, permissions or invalid images may be involved. A partial HF view is used only with your explicit agreement. Do not silently change an already used source: create another project for a new collection.
Annotations & models
Do I need to mark every annotation as reviewed?
No. Inspect the image and its annotations, make any adjustments, then use Approve. To exclude a sample, reject it with a useful reason. Model proposals remain suggestions to examine, rather than automatic human decisions.
Which annotations can I use?
Depending on the project's tasks: boxes, points, masks, captions, classes, text–region links, questions/answers and counts. Full JSONL retains this information. COCO and YOLO project only part of it: choose the format that fits your workflow.
Are all TFLite models compatible?
No. Weights alone are not sufficient: the contract must describe the expected inputs, outputs, classes and preprocessing. Use a compatible bundle or a catalog model, validate its contract and try it on an image. A valid TFLite file alone does not ensure that Cadryl can interpret its output.
Can I use a model without downloading it?
You can import a compatible bundle already on your device. No weights are bundled with the app. local_http requires a service and model already running on the phone; Cadryl does not install them automatically or contact a remote server in that mode.
Can a model replace my annotations?
Saved human annotations are protected during model operations. Inspect and adjust proposals before approving an image. Back up the studio before intentionally resetting or deleting a project.
On-device training
How do I start training?
Choose a model that supports training, finalize and export the relevant annotations, then open Training. Check train/validation splits, classes and available storage. The current workflow requires at least 32 training images and 8 distinct validation images compatible with the model and task.
What happens to the original model?
Training creates a separate version and preserves the original. After success, try the trained version on an image and explicitly choose to activate it. A completed run does not guarantee improved accuracy on another dataset.
What if training is interrupted?
Check the run's state in the app. Use Resume when a compatible checkpoint is available; otherwise follow the displayed diagnostic. Keep the required images and checkpoints. Phone battery restrictions can affect long tasks. A complete backup waits for training to finish or be explicitly abandoned.
Why can't training start?
Common causes include a model that does not support training, too few distinct images, incompatible annotations or classes, a missing export, or an insufficient storage budget. Address the displayed diagnostic; downloading another weights file without its contract does not resolve incompatibility.
Local export & Hugging Face
How do I export a batch?
Give every sample a final decision. Approved images are exported; rejected samples retain their decisions. Select COCO, YOLO or question/answer projections when they match your annotations. Images and full JSONL accompany the package. Choose a local destination or confirm HF publication.
Which permissions do I need to publish to HF?
A token with write access to your chosen destination repository, plus redistribution rights for your images and models. Check the repository, branch and path before confirming. Cadryl does not delete source repository files or turn publication into destructive mirroring.
What if the network drops or HF reports a conflict?
Keep the local package and check the batch state. Cadryl can resume the same upload or reconcile an upload whose response was lost. A branch conflict requires an explicit decision: the expected parent is not silently moved. Do not delete local copies to resolve a conflict.
Why is the exported copy checked?
The check confirms that expected files are present and match their digests. It supports batch closeout and protects cleanup. You do not need to mark every file as read back: follow the check's result. Keep local copies until the destination is verified.
Why does COCO or YOLO refuse an export?
A class missing from the vocabulary or an incompatible annotation can block the projection. Add the relevant classes or disable that projection. Full JSONL retains all annotations; VQA does not invent answers for unrelated tasks.
Backup & recovery
Does a ZIP export back up my entire studio?
No. A dataset export contains the batch and its annotations, not all projects or all application states. Use the manual complete backup in My projects, and keep the archive in a private location.
What does a complete backup contain?
The studio database, private files still present — including images, models, exports and training files — and supported preferences. HF tokens, Keystore keys, SAF permissions and Play purchase entitlements are excluded. External sources and already purged images are not recreated.
How do I restore the studio?
Restoration requires an empty studio with the same Android application identity. It refuses to overwrite an occupied studio. Preserve current data before any operation, then reconnect external folders and accounts after restoration. Do not uninstall an app containing unbacked-up data just to try restoration.
What if my folder is no longer accessible?
Select the same folder again with the Android picker and grant read access. Reconnect a missing storage volume. Keep local annotations; a lost permission does not mean the project needs to be reset.
What if my phone runs out of space?
Reduce the next batch size, or raise the project's budget if real free space remains. Packages and archives need additional room. Disable WebDataset to reduce export size if useful. Clean a batch only after its copy has been checked; external backups remain your responsibility.
Subscription & support
What does the subscription unlock?
The optional monthly offer removes advertising; it adds no studio features. The configured French price is €2.99 including tax per month. Google Play shows the local price, period and terms before confirmation. Import, annotation, export and training never automatically start a purchase.
How do I restore my subscription?
Use the Google Play account used for the purchase, check connectivity, then restore or verify purchases from the offer screen. A studio backup does not restore purchases. A pending purchase must first be confirmed by Google Play.
How do I cancel or request a refund?
Manage the subscription in Google Play. Uninstalling does not stop renewal. Cancellation stops future billing; the benefit normally lasts until the paid period ends, subject to revocation or refund. Refund requests go through Google Play support.
Are my data sent to Cadryl?
Cadryl operates no backend of its own and creates no Cadryl account. Projects and local processing stay on your device. HF transfers, downloads, advertising and purchases contact their respective providers. Read the privacy policy for details; this does not mean that no external connection occurs.
How do I report a useful issue?
Email unicornwhodev@gmail.com with the app version, phone model, Android version, affected step and displayed message. Include a redacted screenshot if helpful. Never send HF tokens, passwords, card numbers or a private dataset; a small shareable example is often enough.
RIGGERDROID
Rigging and animation
Is automatic rigging planned for V1?+
A rigging and animation workshop for Android. Native automatic rigging is planned for V1, with Hand Rig as an optional paid add-on.
Is Hand Rig included?+
An additional paid module for working on hand rigs. Pricing and purchase terms will be announced when it becomes available.
How should I prepare my model?+
The current workflow uses GLB models and animations. Keep your original file, check the skeleton and inspect the preview. Supported formats and feature limits will be detailed at launch.
Need a hand?
Include your phone model, app version and the steps you followed. Never send passwords, tokens or private data.
